Comparison of Sony Ericsson W890i and W880i
The newest member of the Sony family of mobile phones is an enhancement of its predecessor, the Sony Ericsson W880i. Both phones have excellent music capabilities, the real purpose of the âWâ series. In both models the emphasis is on the phoneâs ability to produce excellent musical entertainment instead of being a camera phone. This is apparent in the fact that the camera on both phones lacks both auto focus and flash.
On the positive side, the keypad on the Sony Ericsson W890i is easier to use than the one on the Sony Ericsson W880i. This easier to use keypad is beneficial not only for texting but also when it is necessary to dial a number that does not appear in your contact list or as part of your recent calls. The phone is still slim in style which makes it easy to carry just about anyplace you may go.
Another change that was made is that the Sony Ericsson W890i has a 2GB memory stick instead of the 1GB memory card that was in its predecessor. However in spite of the increase in memory, the W890i only holds 500 tracks instead of the 900 that the W880i was capable of holding. Of course, the W890i also has the potential to expand to 8GB to hold everything from Abba to Zappa.
For those who are interested in safety, the case on the Sony Ericsson W890i is a little more rounded. Although this does not customarily affect anyoneâs choice in a phone, for those who have small children it may be of concern. The display screen is also slightly larger than on the previous model though the phone itself is still slim and lightweight like the Sony Ericsson W880i.
Both of these models are intended to be music phones rather than camera phones thus the reason the focus is on the music capabilities. In fact, the Sony Ericsson W890i improves on the quality of the speakers compared to the Sony Ericsson W880i. Though this is not of importance to someone looking for a basic camera phone, it is extremely important for the music lover.
The choice between the two phones, the Sony Ericsson W880i or the Sony Ericsson W890i, is one each consumer has to weigh for himself. The options on each phone are similar, but the W890i is the later model with upgrades and enhancements that make it a better choice for the average consumer. On the other hand, some users prefer the look and style of the W880i in spite of any upgrades that SE has made.
To say either model is preferred over the other one at this point lacks substance. Reviews show preferences for both phones, and perhaps due to the personal preference of the user. Each person must make a decision based upon his or her personal preference in features including that of a music phone instead of a camera phone. Either phone is a great choice for music, but if youâre looking for a camera phone, you want to choose the âCâ series.

Nokia N900 Vs. Iphone Comparison: Reviews And Guides
In the years since Apple release iPhone to the mobile phone market, the other bigwigs in the cellular phone arena have scrambled to top the innovations that Apple introduced through the iPhone, such as the multi-touch screens, with their own cellular models. Unfortunately, all these cellphone models to date have yet to match the iPhone even though they have similar features.
But that may change soon. In just the previous month, the Finnish telecoms giant Nokia released its Nokia N900, which some critics have come to call as the iPhone killer. It remains to be seen if the Nokia N900 can outperform the iPhone, but the former has features that can easily compare with Apple’s baby.
Working Is Easier with Nokia N900
The most revolutionary feature of the Apple iPhone is definitely its multi-touch screen. With a few swipes and pinches on the surface of the iPhone, you can get it to do exactly what you want. This, however, takes getting used to, and many mobile phone users are not exactly satisfied with the on-screen keyboard that the iPhone has. In this, the Nokia N900 trumps the iPhone – it has a tactile keyboard that slides from underneath the body of the phone.
It does not end there. The N900 also has Skype and GTalk pre-installed. You do not have to download it to be able to use it, which is what you need to do when it comes to the iPhone. In addition, the N900 has a camera that is fully dedicated to video calls. You no longer need to depend on your laptop and webcam just to be able to make those video calls.
More Freedom and More Savings – Possible with Nokia N900
Many mobile phone consumers dislike the fact that the iPhone is locked in with AT&T. Not everyone likes the services of AT&T and not everyone appreciates this lack of freedom in choice that Apple imposed upon them. Compared to the iPhone, the Nokia N900 is unlocked, meaning that anyone can insert the SIM of their choice into the phone and be able to use the phone without any problems.
This is priceless if you travel a lot and need to use your phone on your travels. Because the iPhone is locked in with AT&T, you have no choice but to shoulder international roaming costs. With the N900, all you need to do is to buy a local SIM card and call whenever necessary.
But the best example of freedom that consumers can enjoy with the N900 is the fact that it uses a Linux-based operating system. The core of this OS is open source and users have access to this core. So, geeks can tweak their phones to their heart’s content.
Wider Range of Features
The Nokia N900 has other features that look to be wider in range than the iPhone’s own. For one, the N900 supports more codecs for playing audio and video files. Its Firefox-based browser is also capable of reading Flash applications, which are essential for web-based gaming and video streaming.

Telephones Price comparison -Thing to remember before Buying Telephone Handsets
In this jet-set age the utility of telephones have not reduced. Even if we see every other person carrying a mobile phone these days most of the households in developed countries have still not done away with landline telephones. Telephones need not be charged in short intervals unlike mobile phones and thus they can be used during any emergency situation when the power supply gets severed. These positive features of telephones compensate for lack of mobility which cellphones provide in abundance. There are wide array of telephones with various hi-tech features available in the market and you can make proper telephone price comparison before you buy one of your choice.
Now you don’t need to drop into a brick and mortar store to buy a telephone handset. The advent of internet has revolutionized the way we shop and there are wide arrays of e-shops available in the internet which would provide you with a wide array of choices for buying telephones manufactured by top brands. The price ranges of the telephones differ on the features incorporated in these telephones. For example, telephones with caller-id and dual speaker and voice messaging features would be much pricier than simple single line telephones without any such fancy features. So, you should make a detailed telephone price comparison before deciding to buy one.
However, the brand name of the manufacturers also makes some considerable different on the price of telephone handset you plan to buy. Starting from Panasonic to Phillips there are quite a few electronic gadget manufacturing giants who have ventured in the telecommunication arena. You would be spoilt for choice if you want to venture out to buy telephone handsets because other top brands like Motorola and Siemens also manufacture telephone handsets. That’s why if you want to procure your telephone hand set from a top brand then you might have to shell out more money than you might have done otherwise.
The best advantages of buying your telephone sets from these websites is that you need not hop from the website of one top brand to another to make telephone price comparison on the handsets of your choice. Comparison Shopping with a Cellphone
How often do you find something at a store and wonder how much cheaper you could get it online? Now you don’t have to wonder–you can call 1-888-FRU-SHOP. That’s the number for Frucall, a first-of-its-kind price-comparison shopping service currently in Beta.
How Does Frucall Work?
Frucall is pretty simple to use despite all the technology behind it:
*Call 1-888-FRU-SHOP from any phone in the US.
At the prompt, enter the product’s bar code number. That’s the number directly below the bar code. (Hint: don’t forget the first and last digits, which may be offset from the rest of the code.)
*A computerized voice confirms the product’s name and states the price, as well as shipping information.
*The whole process takes about ten seconds. There are no signups, no downloads, and funky add-on services or charges to your phone bill.
Beta Limitations
Frucall has been launched to the public in Beta mode, though it has already been tested for more than two months on an invitation-only basis. The Beta service works well, though there are still a few limitations:
During the initial Beta period, Frucall only searches Amazon. The designers, however, are planning on adding additional sites soon. They eventually expect it to become an internet-wide ecommerce price comparison service for cell phones.
Because the Beta only searches Amazon, you can’t use it for things that aren’t sold on Amazon. The Beta is most valuable when you’re out shopping for clothes, appliances, electronics, books, music, DVDs and stuff like that, but for now you cannot use it for grocery shopping.
You won’t be able to buy the product using your phone until this feature is implemented sometime in summer 2006.
First-Ever Voice-Activated Mobile Price Comparison Service
Mobile phone technologies are all the rage these days, from movies to games to weather reports to shopping. For the most part, these technologies have a dedicated core of people who tend to be very comfortable navigating all the options on the little screens and touch pads of their cell phones. Right now, mobile applications aren’t as appealing to people who are less nimble-fingered, less technologically savvy–or just less patient.
Frucall, however, might just be the first mobile application both you and your grandmother could use. The usability factor for Frucall is high since it’s all voice-activated, and, ultimately, that’s what cell phones were made for: talking, not running software.
Looking out for people who actually like mobile software, Frucall’s designers are working on a WAP (mobile application) version as well, which will be available in a couple of months.
In the meantime, Frucall’s voice-activated interface is a blessing for die-hard cheapskates: they can call the toll-free number from a payphone without even having to pay cellphone airtime.
In short, if you’re serious about saving money, you just got another tool in your toolbox.

Comparison of cellphone service providers?
In a short time, I will be moving to the US for college. Right now im in Germany, and when i get there i would of course want to get a cellphone. But I have no idea how the service providers are like. I know that AT&T have their exclusive iphone and there’s sprint, verizon etc.
In germany the three biggest are vodafone, tmobile and O2. Vodafone seems the most popular, they have many specialized data plans, but it is seen as being the expensive one. Tmobile has their iphone and dont seem to be as “hip” as vodafone. O2 is weak in terms of appealing to customers but they offer competent data plans and quite a number of special flatrates(O2 seems to be for the “pros”who use their phone a lot). What is it like in america???
