PostHeaderIcon 2010 Acura MDX from Honda

Crossovers and SUVs are quite popular in the luxury segment. These cars have lavish features and sophistication and offer performance and safety with enjoyable ride. These cars are loaded with features and technological advancements for better handling and performance, drive safety and security. One of the favorite models in the category is the 2010 Acura MDX which is considered to be quite popular on most people’s list when they intend to buy a new car. This car is quite striking with appealing looks and style. There are various models and versions to choose from. The MDX has very attractive and distinct façade and it is one of the best engineered vehicles in the brand’s line-up. The vehicle is very appropriately priced and offers good value for money in terms of its features and utility. It is a seven seater while others in the category are five seaters and one of the best selling in the category.

2010 Acura MDX – Features and amenities

The base price of mid-sized Acura MDX is $ 52,000. It is the third most costly car in the lineage after RL Sedan and rakish ZDX. The MDX is the best seller in the Honda models in the category and sold nearly 6000 cars in 2009. This constituted almost over one third of the total company car sales.

As per company reports and new car guides the vehicle was fully redesigned in 2007 and this would be the fourth year for the second generation MDX and expectantly of an Honda product it is likely to have a mid-cycle refresh that would mean refreshed styling that would include using the front end treatment and some minor and less noticeable updates and changes at few other places.  The most significant mechanical upgrade was the replacement of the five-speed automatic transmission with a six-speed transmission that is similar to the one in the new 2010 ZDX. This feature makes these two models unique and distinct and the only ones with this portfolio from the company. It is already followed by other similar models in the industry. New car buyers guide indicates that here are also seven or eight cog gearboxes available in the industry. It is felt that five gears are sufficient however the current trend and the need for bigger and better and quicker versions require this. The new transmission works well and is quite unnoticeable until a closer look at the specifications.

The engine is 3.7 liter and similar to the one in 2007 redesign. Just like the other V6 of the company the car is a gem of a car with excellent power and a good soundtrack under acceleration. Lower rated fuel consumption is the direct benefit of the extra gear in the transmission. The car as fuel rating is 13.2/9.6 L/100 km (city or highway). The other modifications include new power steering system, firmer rear trailing arm mounting and a more firm body. These upgrades make it one of the best used cars and also lead to lower noise, vibration and harshness. The MDX is amazingly nice at handling and thankfully due to its Super handling All-Wheel Drive system (SH-AWD) that allocates the torque front to back and left to right as per the conditions and driver requirements. The system also gives greater power to the outside rear wheels in turn and aids in greater balancing especially while accelerating at corners. When tried the MDX is silent, comfortable and composed car and worth the price that you would get when you get your new car quote from the company. It has a power tailgate and rear-view camera as standard feature.

The MDX’s suspension is quite close and gives the car a sturdy and steady ride even on demanding roads. The MDX feels sportier. The Active Damper System and the Elite Package is compact and consists of adaptive cruise control, auto-leveling headlights, blind spot information system, collision mitigation braking, unique 19-inch wheels, heated and cooled front seats and roof rails   and adds $10,000 to the MDX’s MSRP, for $61,990. The mid-range Technology Package adds navigation, rear-seat entertainment system, upgraded stereo with 15GB of media storage, premium leather upholstery, Bluetooth capability and a 115-volt outlet in the rear console and costs $57,290. There are no rain-sensing wipers. Both versions have multi-view backup camera and relays what it sees via the rear-view mirror. The interior is a comfortable and spacious.  The Second-row passengers can be adjusted to backrest angle it is a seven-seater, with a pair of third-row seats best suited for use by kids. Only the passenger side second-row seat slides forward to allow access to the rearmost seats. The cargo space is good even for heavy and large loads.

The interior are done up for 2010 with a thicker steering wheel rim, more leather, new gauges, improved centre stack buttons and upgraded interior trim. The materials look and feel have great quality and the centre stack’s black metal bezel and the wood trim, which, if it’s fake, at least tries to look real.

PostHeaderIcon Milan Starts Its 2010 Fashion Season From Men’s Wear

Milan has always been the fashion center. What’s its next design theme anyhow? According to report, Milan will starts 2010 fashion season with menswear. It going to kick off the fashion action of 2010 on Saturday, when designers will present their menswear collections for next winter, hoping for a recovery in the crisis-hit demand for clothes and accessories.

Alongside showroom collection presentations, male models will strut down the catwalk in just under 40 shows for Milan’s autumn/winter 2010/2011 fashion week which runs January 16-19.

The international fashion pack will descend on the Italian fashion capital which is especially renowned for its “Made in Italy” tailored suits and leather shoes, made by world-famous names such as Giorgio Armani and Ermenegildo Zegna.

“Milan’s menswear will contribute in accelerating the recovery trend, which was too weak in the last part of the year,” Mario Boselli, the head of Italy’s National Chamber of Fashion, was quoted as saying in daily Corriere della Sera.

Luxury groups are focusing on winning back consumers as they emerge from the worst economic crisis in decades which has sapped demand for designer clothes, shoes and accessories.

A tepid recovery is seen in global luxury sales this year, sector experts have said. The menswear market has not been spared by the economic turmoil and with the financial sector hit hard, suit and tie sales have suffered.

Turnover for Italian menswear is seen falling nearly 10 percent to 8.3 billion euros in 2009, according to Sistema Moda Italia (SMI), which represents the clothing and textiles industry. SMI says Italy’s fashion sector will emerge from the crisis before others but the government needs to help companies be more competitive.

PostHeaderIcon How the Sony Ericsson C902 Differs From the K850i

If you’re familiar with the Sony Ericsson mobile phones, you know that the Sony Ericsson C902 is the newest entry into the Cyber-Shot line of camera phones. The C902 replaces the K850i and has many of the same features. The major differences you will find between the two phones are the size of the screen and the type of flash for the phone. The two phones have similar capabilities although there seem to have been some issues with the Xenon flash that was used with the Sony Ericsson K850i.

Because of the touch screen capabilities of the Sony Ericsson C902, the screen is somewhat smaller than that of the K850i. The additional commands are related to the camera itself and make it easier for users to operate the camera. In fact, the C902 has more camera features than any other mobile phone including the Sony Ericsson K850i. The differences in picture quality depend upon the users—some people feel the quality on the K850i is poor while others rave about the clarity.

Sony Ericsson had problems with the Xenon flash in the Sony Ericsson K850i, so when the Sony Ericsson C902 came on the market, they used an LED flash instead. Though the LED flash is usually a weaker flash than the Xenon, Sony Ericsson’s decision to eliminate it because of a series of problems was indeed a good one. The LED flash that the Sony Ericsson C902 uses is not the regular LED flash and thus is of superior quality. The general consensus is that the flash works very well and the pictures are high quality for a camera phone.

A comparison of the Sony Ericsson K805i and the Sony Ericsson C902 shows that the two cameras phones are quite similar as far as the features themselves. On the other hand, reviews tend to show that the K902 was riddled with many problems including freezing and complete shutdown of the system. Whether these problems were rampant prior to SE’s decision to replace the “K” series with a newer and higher quality Cybershot camera phone is unclear.

Both of these cybershot phones have capabilities beyond that of camera phones, but the music, Bluetooth and other capabilities do not appear to differ between the Sony Ericsson C902 and the Sony Ericsson K805i. The C902 does appear to have more touch screen capabilities as indicated by the smaller screen size. This is most to accommodate the features of the camera, which tends to be more versatile and complex than the average camera phone.

The decision to use one phone over the other is personal indeed, but it’s important to remember that since the C902 replaces the K850i, most people will need to upgrade in order to be relieved of some of the problems that plagued the earlier model. The new “C” series of cybershot camera phones are destined to be the wave of the future and provide more quality service for both phone and camera users.
