FISHERMEN ONLY-What are the best polarized fishing sunglasses currently on the market and why…?
…do you think so?
I’m looking to replace my 7 year old Costa Del Mars… so what’s cutting edge these days? Extra credit if you guide or fish more than a dozen times a year.
I fish more than a dozen times a month. Stick with the Costa’s they are the leaders in sunglasses for anglers. I have sorta a sunglass problem a cant stop buying them and I have to tell nothing comes close to the Costa’s I have tried Oakley, Rayban, Maui Jim and Killer loops. With the Costa’s I can see deeper into the water and they almost completely eliminate water glare. I just got a pair of the Costa Man O War with the 580 green mirror lenses and all I can say is WOW!! The 580 Lenses make a difference, a little bit more money but if you keep them for 7 years like the last ones than its well worth the investment. With Costa’s remember that what color lens you get depends on what type of fishing you will be doing. Offshore bluewater fishing you should get the blue mirror if you stay inshore or freshwater get the green mirror, I have a pair of both and I use the green mirror offshore as well and they work just fine.
Browning Stalker Polarized Sunglasses
i have them there Great
I have a $100 pair of solar bats which are great in amberfor sunny days or bright cloudy days but they don’t do well in the evening or rain and Ish wears them (if that counts for anything) . He is a site fisherman.
I also have a pair of $200 maui jims which I love but not made for fishing because they let light in on the sides so I always wear a hat with them. I think they make a great lens.
what I found is that the more you spend the better the polarization process is, giving you a clearer view in glare
I fish more than 50 times a year and fish bass tourneys–wheres my bonus
If you visit a bass pro shops, they can really help break down the differences if theres one near you or if you pass by one in your winter travels–they are a wealth of info and no they aren’t my sponsor
Good Luck
Wiley X.
they are ANSI certified for shatterproofness which may be a big thing if you should happen to get snagged and jerk a sinker back into your face.
if they are recommended by our servicemen, that’s good for me.
